Banana Cream

The name “Banana Cream” is a reference to the term “banana” used toward so-called “white-washed” Asians: “yellow on the outside, white on the inside.” I think it’s a bit more complicated than that for me, as it probably is for most Asian-Americans.

I write about what I know best, which mostly falls under arts & entertainment and personal stories. Subjects like politics or activism are being covered by enough others that know much better than me, so I’ll leave that kind of thing alone.

That said, this blog is only loosely focused. I basically write about whatever I want, including things that don’t necessarily have anything to do with the name of this blog.
